My home office has been a mess for a long time. My husband bought me this book because he was tired of walking by my disorganized office. I picked out a few tips that made sense. My office isn't perfect and I still have some work to do, but the piles are gone and I've changed my office arrangement. I also moved out old furniture and donated some other things. He highlighted the part about home and life balance so I guess I need to work on that too.Product details

While you may never actually "Work Naked" in your house, (Leather gets real cold this time of year) Lisa's book is a must read for anyone who is serious about working from home. She takes all the guess work out of how to set up your home office for optimum success. Having worked from home myself for the last 20 years, I know that without a room or an area that you can call "your own", your chances of spending quality time - without being constantly distracted - are limited at best.
In Working Naked - Lisa lays it all out. She has great ideas, money saving and time saving tips. She covers the potential problems of how the kids and your pets can get you off your game. And if you only read chapter 17 - "Control Clutter" you'll be way ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned. Even if you're an old pro at home office-ing (is that a word?), you'll still get lots of great ideas from this book. If you're just starting out on creating your home office - put reading "Working Naked" at the top of your to-do list!
I've worked naked for the past few years (i.e. worked from home), and I wish I would have had this book before I started. Lisa presents a ton of fantastic tips in a well-organized, easy-to-read format. She covers everything from setting up your home office to staying organized to actually getting down to working and being productive. I now work naked in public - I am a freelancer working from a coworking space - and most of Lisa's great tips are still relevant to me.
If you are considering or are already working from home, Lisa Kanarek's "Working Naked" is a great how-to guide for setting yourself set up and getting "undressed" for success.
I purchased this book because I was looking for a book on improving productivity when working from home. Reading the book description I thought this was going to offer strategies, but this book offers no such advice.
Unfortunately for me, this book was more about getting organized (for beginners) not about actual strategies for productivity and balancing home/ office life when you work from home. Though I found some tips related to that aspect of working from home helpful, they were simply blurbs and little bits of info I have heard before in home-office blogs and such (like being productive yet setting time for yourself and family).
This book is very short; it is literally 50 tips written out with little more substance than a magazine article. That being said, it is an effective way to get the points across in a no-nonsense way, which is great if your a busy person or are looking for a motivational push.
I did not like the fact that on kindle there is no table of contents. When I realized that this book was more of a quick handbook rather than a traditional book, I saw that a table of contents wouldn't make much sense; still it was hard to navigate this book via kindle.
If you are looking for a handbook on "setting up" a home office and you know very little about office supplies and actually putting together a functional office or if you struggle with getting organized, then maybe you should check this book out, but please note it is a very short read. Hopefully kindle will improve the ease of access through a table of contents in the future. Right now I am book marking my favorite parts-but non kindle users should have no issues with this!
Either way, I gave it 4 starts because its a motivational book that should help get you going on your path to a productive and organized home-office -)
